Files go in at around 3mb (compressed from 18mb) from my digital camera and come out at under 1mb so I presume there is a fair amount of compression applied. The image consists of trees foilage, grasses and people, quite "detailed" with lots of objects and "edges". I then ran NI 2.1 Demo and got a 1.5MB file. I ran a 40% NR setting on an image with 97% jpg quality setting and got a 3.3MB file. I just bought my licenced copy of NI 2.3 Home yesterday. But dropping the sharpness to -5 to decrease the noise grain in the images don't really mean a huge drop in filesizes too, so one has to be aware of that too. Whether is it due to the wee-bit more noise in the C5050 images, well that i do not know. Comparatively, F717 is around 2MB and 5700 is 1.5-2MB. A 2560x1920 image is easily in the 2.5MB-3MB range, sometimes more.
